In 2005 the idea for Innocent Oils started to form, based around just one product, 100% Hemp Seed Oil. The one and only oil that the boss lady, Helen James could use without reaction on her own hyper-sensitive skin and that of her young children who were suffering from eczema.
Helen soon discovered that she wasn't the only one with a sensitivity dilema on her hands, arms legs and body that nothing from the GP seemed to resolve.
It wasn't long before word spread about the wonders of 100% Innocent Hemp Seed Oil and an innocent business was born.

In the last century the Western World seems to have lost touch with the healing power of many plants which have been safely and successfully used by millions throughout history to calm, heal and restore the body's natural balance.
Sadly, for the hemp plant the media has caused much confusion throughout the 20th century and misinformation has created unnecessary concerns about using the hemp plant in any form due to confusion involving the intoxicating illegal form of the plant. Helen, the owner and founder of Innocent Oils did not want this to become an issue with her products so for this reason the hemp leaf is not used as a symbol on of any of the products and nor does she wish to make any connetion or political statements regarding the legalisation of Hemp's psychoactive illegal sister plant, also commonly known as Cannabis or Hashish, wishing to leave this thorny issue to others on a different mission to her own.

Throughout history the beauty industry has been bombarded with new synthetic chemicals which serve no good purpose for the body. These harsh chemicals are often added to commercial products for stability, look, and smell, and to last on the store shelves for extended periods of time, often way beyond 3-5 years for commercial products.
Many of these synthetic nasties have not been long term tested for safety when absorbed in combination by the human body and there is little sign of this happening any time soon.
